I love that object lesson of Momma Z's. (I, Keli's mom, had shared an object lesson taught in Sunday school this week with Keli). Stacie told me about your voice. It's totally cool to sound like Batman. Please send videos. I will check with my mission pres. but from what I understand it's okay. Send packages to where it says on my status about mail. The last one. I love those quotes! They're great. Natalie told me she went to the temple. That really almost made me cry. I am so grateful for that.
Things to send: wallets of the kids and a children's song book in Spanish.

This week. Goodbye's are so hard. (Keli is leaving the Mexico city MTC for El Salvador today). That has been a very challenging part of my week. I love my little district, they're like a family. I especially like having four worthy priesthood holders around me constantly. It's really reassuring. We also have talked a lot about working with the members. I want to share with you what I have learned about that. There's a quote and I wish I had my PMG so I could tell you what it was exactly and who said it. But it said that it is the duty of every man, woman, and child who has reached the age of accountability to preach the gospel. I want to encourage you to become part of the member missionary work. Ask the missionaries if there are people you can help them teach. They will love you even more for it.

I have also gained such a strong testimony of preaching the gospel. I love in John 15 verse like 12 I think. Christ says the greatest thing you can do for your friends is lay down your life. I will not be dying anytime soon, but I have laid down my old life. When i get back, I will have a car, I will have a phone, and Facebook. But I will be such a different person. Using my time better, interacting better with others, etc. I will never not be a missionary. It's impossible. And I am grateful for the chance to do this. And I encourage you to become a missionary too. Help the missionaries. And continue being such a great example. I am working on a Christlike attribute for the next two transfers. It's love. I want to be more loving like the Savior.

It would mean a lot to me, if you did too. That way we can both have drastic changes in the next 17 months.

I love you so much mom. I hope I get to call you today.

Siempre tu hija,
hermana Mims

So Monday was a little difficult. I had been thinking a lot about Dad and then this Elder was wearing aftershave that smelled similar to his Stetson Black, and I was flustered with the language it was really bad. I was feeling better after a long night of praying and trying to sleep, but I felt a need to get a blessing. So I asked Elder Warren (the redhead in the photos I've sent) if he would give me a blessing after Gym if I was still feeling bad. Well I still wasn't feeling 100% so During our Daily Planning, all four of the Elders laid their hands on my head and Elder Warren gave me a very amazing blessing. I began crying when he spoke my name. I was happy to hear my actual name, but also because I could tell it wasn't him talking, it was the spirit. He told me Heavenly Father loves me, he reminded me I could go to Him with all of my problems. He blessed me with comfort and with the ability to learn the language. He reminded me of all the people who care about me and that they are there for me. I have never been so touched by a blessing. I mean I have at times where I have been set apart, but never before have I felt so strongly about the power of the priesthood, the power of the blessings, and the truthfulness of the church. Elder Warren offered if there was anything I needed I could ask him, so I plan to get another blessing before I leave, which is MONDAY! OH MY GOODNESS! haha. I just got my flight info And I am so excited! (Leaving the Mexico city MTC for El Salvador).

We constantly need to be asking ourselves what can I do to make the scriptures have more importance in my life or make me a better person etc. I think it is awesome that you are working on studying your scriptures! Just remember if you don't have enough time to read your scriptures you're busier than the Lord intended you to be. I think any effort is amazing so good for you! I have been reading in DyC and I love it. I have never been so proud of my decision to serve until recently when I started reading Doctrina y Covenios. Seriously so amazing!

I am SO glad it (letter for my sister Rachel) arrived on her birthday I was worried. I thought the picture was a little cheesy but funny at the same time. And Yay for Mariah! That's so awesome! I so wish I could go through the temple here! I hope to go in El Salvador! I am so proud of you for going often! And please send me some (homemade stromboli)!  Haha. That would be so delicious. But I still do like the food, except they feed us so much meat it's almost disgusting. For breakfast I eat Frosted Flakes or peanutbutter toast because I can't stand how much meat, and the eggs, they serve.

Studies are going good. I am coming along with the language. I think I am doing okay. I think I need to work a little harder at memorizing words for my lessons. El Plan de Salvacion is really hard to do in Spanish! Thank you so much! I just know how hard it is to live with a father who isn't into the whole church thing. Thank you so much!

The cookies were so good! THANK YOU! You really didn't have to send me anything, but I loved it!

Package ideas: Conference issue!

I was told pictures of crosses and Jesus and Mary on packages does work. A girl in my district had a brother serving in Mexico and that's what they did. Never had a problem.

This week...

I have been running half a mile daily besides yesterday and today. The altitude is not god for me to run in so I can only do the half mile in like 10 minutes. Which is really sad. But I think I will do better in El Salvador. Thank goodness.

Our branch president's son came to sacrament meeting last week with his daughter Emma. I about died! He made her blow kisses at me and bat her eyes! So stinkning cute! The she gave me hand shakes, knuckle bump and a high five! Too cute. Her name is Emma and she's 18 months! Too cute!

There is this new teacher who is seriously so cool. He's been back for four months from his mission in Guatamala. He got so excited when he heard about my mission. He was like flipping out and telling me how cool it is and how awesome it is. He also thinks that me and my comp. are some of the better Spanish speakers in our district! Go us!

I also met a Latino from El Salvador which was cool.

I got to go soon. I love you and You're amazing!
Praying for you always.
Siempre, tu hija,
Hermana Mims

I LOVED talking with you guys too. It was so nice to see you!
Uncle Andrew and Aunt Becky are way too sweet! And Adam and Amy  too! I am so very grateful for their love and support! It really is amazing!

Man, I would love to go swimming! I think that will be hard for me in El Salvador right next to the ocean.

FOOD:
Tacos Dorratos are AMAZING! Seiously so good! They have a bunch of yummy food but it's so much meat! Like for lunch today we had steak, delicious moist and well seasoned steak but still meat is a big thing. They do this spinach lasagna which is really good. They also do fish, which is so good. There is always rice and beans for lunches and oh goodness I love it. Plus all the fresh fruit! Oh my goodness it is just way too good! The candy and the chips they have here taste so much better than they do back home. Nacho dorritos are like 20x better!

Funny story about Cinco de Mayo, they don't really celebrate it here. I the E.U we make a bigger deal out of it than it is in Mexican culture. Super weird, huh?

I offered a prayer because I am good at those (in Spanish). That an bearing my testimony is the stuff I am really good at. I am glad you enjoyed the prayer. >After talking with other missionaries and telling them that's what I did a lot of them were a little upset that they didn't do that. I am glad I did that. I miss having family prayers, although, our nightly district prayers are pretty nice, and I feel like I have FOUR worthy priesthood holders in my family which is nice.

I had some issues with my district leader, well a lot of the sisters did and apparently I am the "bold" one, so I got elected to confront him. Which I totally don't mind. Elder Carnahan was a little ticked for the rest of the day (yesterday) but was much better today. Thank goodness! Because we had our temple trip today and if he had been in a bad mood for the bus ride, I would be in trouble for punching an Elder. The temple by the way is so beautiful! The visitor center is the coolest visitor center the church owns! There is even a little area for kids! So cool. I have some photos from that and the temple.

Cool experiences:
We taught an investigator in TRC which is where we are just dumped in a room with an investigator and we teach. She was really cool! She loved us and we had so much fun teaching her about prayers! She had shorter hair than me and it was dyed purple. We also had Elder L. Tom Perry give a devo last night (from Provo) and it was pretty neat. I liked it a lot, but still not as powerful as Elder Holland's talk last week. I think it is so crazy how devotionals can mean so much more now.

Please put (name censored) on the prayer roll the next time you are at the temple. He's the father of a girl in my district and he is not a member and he wants her to come home early a transfer or two from her mission so that way she can start school in the fall semester. She really doesn't want to, but she had to agree on it because that was the only way he would support her. Please pray for his heart to be softened! She is such an amazing sister who will so such good in the world!

Mom, I love being a missionary. I don't always love the strict sched. or the dress or the language, but I know this is the right thing for me! There is no other place better for me to be than here. I know that this gospel is true. I know the Savior loves us and did truly take our sins, sicknesses, and sadness upon himself. I know that families are eternal. I know with all my heart this will bless not only you, and my sisters, and my immediate family but my future family as well. Thank you for all your love and support. I love you so much mother. I pray every night for the Lord to pour his blessings upon you. I love you

Hermana Mims

My studies are going good. I need to study a little more but I have the lesson about the Evangelio de Jesucristo down, pertty much without any notes. But I still have a little more to do. Thank you for the prayers. I preay for you a lot too, mama.

Aww fun! I sometimes will be sitting at the computer doing TALL (online language stuff) and in my head I'm thinking "maybe this weekend we'll go over to Stacie's" and then I realize... no, we probably won't. Haha. I miss doing that stuff. But I do love being a missionary.

I sometimes miss my long hair, but it is seriously so easy. I don't think I look to great with it, which is totally a humbling experience, but the girls in my casa love it. And I love how easy it is. Me and an Elder have an on going joke about how I look like a guy. Which is what I think most of the time. I've been wearing small flower clips in my hair. Whenever you do send me a package. I would love a few simple and small flower clips.

Skype= 4pm >Mexico time. we were able to create one here and I already added and told rachel. I am excited, but it will only be about 25 minutes sadly.

Elder Holland talked at the Provo MTC which gets broadcasted to the CCM in Mexico. It was THE MOST POWERFUL TALK EVER! It will be one of the talks that pre-missionaries will be reading and studying before leaving. I am going to suggest my friend  Emily Wharton to give it a little read over. It is amazing. The sisters are very lucky. I hope soon Elder Holland will make his way over here to Mexico City!

Burgers!? YUM! The burgers here are really really awful! Haha. I want a bacon cheese burger so badly.

I transfered 100 dollars over to pesos. I've used a bit of it. I got a couple of CCM shirts to sleep in/work out in. And trying candies and such.  They also give you 120 pesos on your card a week which is usually pretty nice and is enough to cover the basics. But I still have 100 american ccash on me and I haven't used my card much. When I'm at the airport to leave I will just use my card for my bags (I'll get reimbursed shortly after my arrival at the Mission home). Prices aren't horrible. I think things are usally cheaper.

My leg is doing great! If I wasn't wearing tights I would take a picture. It's still red where it was but there is just a little scab left. Elder King, who came in the same week my district did, is like king of herbal remedies and he gave me lavander oil to put on it and it worked amazingly! It stopped being itchy, it stopped hurting, and it was amazing. And since then the scab has just been coming off super easily.

So I can get packages here. Through two sites. Mydearmissionary.com and mtcmexicocarepackage.com they get here in just a couple of days. I am NOT asking for one. But I just thought I would let you know.

I was blessed with the gift of tounges during one of our lessons. I was able to understand and communicate really well. As soon as we left I sat in my chair and just thanked the Lord. It was crazy! But so so so beautiful!

EVERYONE has been getting sick. There is a virus going around and 70% of my district have gotten it, including the other three girls in my room!!! Me, one other sister, and an Elder have gotten off free so far. Thank goodness. From what I understand your stomach will just turn and turn and you feell like you're going to throw up the entire time but you just can't! YUCK! But I have been spared! Thank goodness. Although when Hma. Clement was sick I thought for sure I was going to go crazy because I has to stay inside with her for most of the time. God bless Hma. McCormick and Hma. Westergard for doing splits with me so I could go to the gym/Tall/and study time outside.

I also request two talks in my first carepackage please and thank you! "Fellowship of the unashamed" by Eyring, "The Fourth Missionary" Lawerence Combridge (I think...). oh and also the dedicatory prayer of the Mexico CCM. I think it would be rad to know what it was. Also a composition notebook would be good in that as well.

Would you please thank Brother Prescott for something he said like a few months ago in a testimony meeting. He said something along the lines of "you have to feel a fraction of how Jose smith felt in the grove and a fraction of the way Jesucristo felt in the garden." and After Hollands talk last night I understand exactly what he meant about that. And I really enjoy that quote.

That's basically my week.
